Michel Duport in Mozambique

Michel Duport has been working in Mozambique, from April 17th until the 23rd, invited by Frederic Galliano, a producer, DJ, and sculptor who is seeking to make African contemporary culture more visible.

Elandarts.com has accompaned them to Maputo and has shared with you their impressions, visions and, as much as possible - their creative process.

For Michel Duport, a painter that goes to the limits, between painting and sculpting, between colours and shapes, it shall open some new explorary fields, full of signs, objects and colours.
For Frederic Galliano, the objective is to follow the traces of Michel Duport and to shed some new lights with sounds and images diversity.

Mozambique : a long earth strip along the Indian Ocean, between South Africa and Tanzania. The country where " the sunny sky is aqua blue", as Bob Dylan puts it ("Desire" album). And more basically, an African country, with all its differences from our old European continent, with portuguese roots, very present in the capital, Maputo.

This Mozambican work of Michel Duport will be presented afterwards as numbered and signed estampes on elandarts.com, then at the same time in Plaisir Town Hall (Paris area) and in the Cultural Center of Maputo, and in November 2007, in the Pierre André Benoît Museum in Alès (French Provence).
