Jean Messagier (1920-1999)
French painter associated to the Ecole de Paris movement.
Messagier's career took a turning point in 1955, when he had his first solo exhibition at the Volney circle, Paris. Considered as the leader of the lyric abstraction movement, he strongly refuse all attemps of enclosure.
His work is currently exposed all around the world Beaubourg Center, Paris, Modern Art Museum of New-York: MOMA).
