Graduated in 1992 of the Fine Arts School of Valence (France).

Although it is hung on the wall, his work is claimed as being part of the field of sculpture. The notions of space, weights, surfaces, transparencies, materials are involved with the idea of the molding, of reserves, of the 'Porter-à-découvert' , of geometrical and serial systems. The levelling of the sculpture makes, in his vocabulary, no reference to the painting but to the idea of validly apprehending a volume of a single point of view.

This work is the result of a rather austere, rigorous and minimalist research. The process of creation is completely turned to the research for development of autonomous spaces called "Monads" in reference to the "Monadologie" of Leibniz.

These systems of constructions are defined by the appearance of a central reserve : the "porter-à-découvert» as named by Heidegger, reserve to become or free space. In Frederic Galliano's last monads, it is this " porter-à-découvert " that is put itself in material. No more reserve but the reserve itself embodied by the material.

The systems of constructions of sculptures are elaborated from 4 identical angles stemming from a square shape. These 4 angles were originally in plaster, that allowed the artist to mold , a square and flat shape of 1cm of thickness. He kept them as his working unity.

The various possibilities of formalizing these systems, in plaster (monads plans), in aluminum ( transparent monads) or in Plexiglas ( translucent monads) produce as many spaces of sculpture.

The result, very synthetic, testifies of a reflection where the fate is there only to bring a certain poetics which can always insinuate itself into a beforehand established manufacturing process: fate of the various possibilities of assemblies of the manipulation of angles to form the monads and their "reserves", " porter-à-découvert ", retinal fates...

Since 1993, Frederic Galliano practises the sculpture while leading an international career of Dj and producer of electronic music (on the label F) and African music (on his own label Frikyiwa). This musical practice is led with the same rigour as the plastic practice.

For 14 years, invited in many countries of Africa, America, Japan, Australia, he realizes musical projects (7 personal albums, several maxi albums, remix, lives and collaborations) and projects in plastic arts. This integrates a multimedia vision of the creation and points of view that are opened on various cultures and visions of the world.

Frédéric Galliano also works with the designer Matali Crasset within the framework of live performances, connected to the album " Hi! H " that he realized in Nice, in Hi Hotel and from the architectural considerations conceived by Matali Crasset.
