Eric Vassal is a French painter, sculptor and engraver, born in Paris on 3rd June 1961. He works both in Paris and in his workshop located in the park of the Volcanos of Auvergne.
He has studied the History of Art in the Ecole du Louvre, followed courses at the Penninghen school, at the Beaux-Arts school and at the Atelier 17.
He is fully devoted to his art since 1997, after many years of collaboration as an illustrator and graphic designer for different French and foreign newspapers.
Eric Vassal tests throughout his career, volume, space, the color and the interval which exists between its various series : Anamnèse, Labyrinthe, Puzzle, Graffiti. The artist explores the relation which can be created between the
three-dimensional objects, the space, the architecture in which these objects are exposed.
Its work is extremely original with the meeting of various disciplines: engraving, painting and sculpture.
Its works were in particular exposed in the Center of Contemporary art Nicolas Pomel in Issoire, in the Palais de Tokyo in Paris, in the French television broadcast of France 2, Thé ou Café .
Its paintings form part of the international collections of contemporary art of companies or institutions like the National Library of France (BNF), Hewlett Packard, the National office of the Forests or the Group Laurent Perrier.
