La rencontre avec Christian Jaccard et ses oeuvres est un moment privilégié. On avait pu se rendre en 2008 au Musée d'Orsay, pour une correspondance avec George Hendrick Breitner (1857/1923) et on peut encore le retrouver dans de nombreux fonds internationaux (notamment à Paris, au Centre Pompidou).

Rouge et noir : c'est en jouant avec ces deux coloris, en plus du blanc ou du chromolux à effet miroir de la feuille-support, que l'artiste Franco-Suisse nous offre un accès pérenne à un élément fugace : le feu.
Et l'hiver, c'est justement la saison du feu de cheminée, avec souvent un rapport calme et serein à la combustion.
Pourtant, c'est l'incandescence qui ressort ici des oeuvres proposées par Christian Jaccard.
Dans l'ordre, de gauche à droite, l'artiste nous propose la trainée dévastatrice qui transforme l'applat rouge, en dévoilant des vides réfléchissant, en chromolux (Combustion ML). L'imparable flamme a réalisé son oeuvre, mêlant le désir de la physique des corps à la rigueur de l'ouvrage de l'artiste.
Puis une oeuvre où Kant aurait pu voir la marque du génie tel qu'il le définissait, dans la mesure où l'artiste rencontre la nature pour créer une oeuvre dont il ne pouvait totalement maîtriser ni dessin, ni dessein (Litho-combustion).
Enfin une oeuvre encore brûlante, où Eros semble roder tout proche, et qui nous plonge dans un profond triangle (Litho-brûlage). En plus des deux dimensions de l'oeuvre, la combustion nous offre une troisième dimension, à la fois forte et délicate.

The fire and its traces : Christian Jaccard
The meeting with Christian Jaccard and his work is a unique moment, and it was a true opportunity to visit him in 2008 at the Musée d'Orsay, for a correspondance with George Hendrik Breitner (1857/1923). However, one can still find his masterpieces in many international funds (including in Paris, at the Pompidou Center).

Red and black : Christian Jaccard is playing with these two colors, together with the whiteness or the mirrored chromolux of the support sheet. The Franco-Swiss artist offers a sustained access to an elusive element : fire.
Winter, of course, is the season for fire, in the cheminey : calm and serene.
However, it is often a burning emotion that passes through the works proposed by Christian Jaccard.
In order from left to right, the artist offers us the devastating trail which transforms the full red, and reveals reflecting gaps, through the chromolux (Combustion ML). The unstoppable flame has completed its work, combining the desire for the physics to the rigor of artistic aesthetics.
Then a work in which Kant could find an idea of genious, since the artist meets nature and creates a work which he could not control nor design (Litho-combustion).
Finally a fundamental and hot work, where Eros seems to be present somewhere nearby, and plunges the viewer into a deep triangle (Litho-burning). In addition to the two dimensions of the papersheet, combustion offers a third dimension, made of delicate strength.
